How do you keep the result secret, even from the parents?

Hand the sealed result to one trusted person and let them make the film. That way the parents find out at the party with everyone else. Pick the friend who can keep a secret, which rules out anyone who has ever said "I won't tell" and then told.

How long should a gender reveal video be?

Around 15 to 30 seconds. Under 10 seconds and there is no suspense. Over 45 seconds and the room starts talking again before the answer arrives. If you add a countdown, three to five seconds of it is plenty.

Tip from Brand Show the word as well as the color. Pink and blue look very alike to some people, especially on an old TV or to someone who is color blind. "It's a boy!" in big letters removes all doubt.

Keep it short and big: "It's a girl!" or "It's a boy!" is perfect. If you want a little more, add a second line after a beat. These all work:

"It's a girl! Arriving in April."
"Team Blue wins. It's a boy!"
"Grandpa was right. For once. It's a boy!"
"Little brother incoming."
"She's on her way."
"It's a baby! (Okay fine. It's a girl.)"

Play it on a video call with everyone watching at once, then send the video file afterward so they can watch again. Set a time, tell people to join five minutes early, and share your screen with sound on.
