How Nine makes a film
Every step from what you bring to a finished film. Each one says whether it runs by itself or is yours to decide.
Step 1 · yours, about 20 seconds
You sign up
Continue with Google, or we email you a six-digit code. No password.
Step 2 · yours
You bring something
Your website, an idea, a script, a recording, pictures or a document. Drop in what you already have.
Step 3 · by itself
Nine reads your brand
Your colours, your typeface, your name and your words, from your own page. It tells you what it found and what it had to decide. How the reading works.
Step 4 · yours
You choose how much you approve
Direct it yourself, work on it together, or let Nine direct. If you want to, you see the directions the film could take before it is built.
Step 5 · yours
You see what it costs
Every film shows its credit estimate before it starts, and never uses more. Nothing starts until you say so.
Step 6 · by itself
The crew makes it
The crew writes and builds the film, with voice, music and sound effects. Watch it being made if you like, or leave: we email you when it is ready.
Step 7 · by itself
Every scene is checked
The crew checks the story, the look and the movement, and reworks a scene until it reaches the standard you chose. What the checks look for.
Step 8 · yours
You shape it
In the Chamber you can move anything, change words and colours, and move the voice, music and effects while the film plays. Compare the saved rounds and keep the one you like.
Step 9 · yours, for good
You take it with you
Download it wide, tall, square or portrait. Supported films also come without a background, for editing software or a website. The film is yours to use.
What a film costs
Films are made on a monthly plan with credits, and every film shows its cost before it starts. The prices page always has today’s prices. You can also try directing a practice film, free and with no card.
