I need a simple About Us film for my company. Show who we are, what we make, and why clients trust us, in 45 seconds or less.
That is a good brief. A company film works best when it says three things fast, who you are, what you do, and why someone should care. Keep it plain. Keep it human. Keep the first line useful.
Here are eight ready-to-use examples. Copy one. Tweak the names, the details, and the ending. If you want more starting points, open the Inspiration room. If you want to try a film in your own colors first, the front page lets you do that for free, with no account.
Copy these About Us video examples
1. Warm and welcoming, 30 to 40 seconds.
Script: “We are Northside Studio. We help small businesses look clear, sound human, and show up well online. We make short films, simple motion pieces, and visual stories that fit busy teams. If you need a company video that is easy to understand, you are in the right place.”
Scene idea: Logo, desk, hands at work, a few product or office shots, then a clean end card with your website.
2. Founder-led, 45 to 60 seconds.
Script: “I started this company because good work was getting buried under long explanations. We build films that make the point faster. Less jargon. Fewer slides. More time for the part that matters. If you want to show what you do without sounding like a brochure, this is the place for it.”
Scene idea: Founder on camera for the first line, then cut to process shots, screen captures, and finished work.
3. Team-led, 30 to 45 seconds.
Script: “We are a small team, and that helps. You do not get passed around. You talk to people who write, design, and build the film. We keep the process simple, the words short, and the feedback round useful. Less back and forth. More finished work.”
Scene idea: Quick shots of each person doing one thing, with names or roles on screen, then one shared final frame.
4. Customer-first, 20 to 30 seconds.
Script: “Your customer does not need every detail. They need the right detail. So we make company films that answer the first questions fast: What is this? Who is it for? Why should I trust it? That way, people keep watching.”
Scene idea: Start with a question on screen, then a simple answer, then a clear call to action.
5. Values-first, 30 to 45 seconds.
Script: “We care about work that is clear, useful, and honest. That shows up in how we write, how we design, and how we edit. We do not pad things out. We say the thing, then we stop. If that sounds like your kind of company, let’s make the film simple.”
Scene idea: Calm motion graphics, clean type, close-ups of tools, notebooks, and the final export screen.
6. Product-plus-people, 45 to 60 seconds.
Script: “We make software, but people buy confidence, not code. So our films show the product and the people behind it. What it does, how it helps, and who is here to support it. That mix usually answers the real question, can I trust this team?”
Scene idea: Screen demo, then faces, then a few behind-the-scenes shots, with the product always in context.
7. Website homepage version, 20 to 35 seconds.
Script: “Northside Studio makes short films for businesses that need to explain themselves quickly. We work from your words, your website, or a simple brief, then shape it into a clear film with voice, music, and sound. Start here if your homepage needs to say more in less space.”
Scene idea: Website header, three quick benefit lines, and a short end card with one action.
8. Sales follow-up version, 40 to 50 seconds.
Script: “Thanks for taking a look. Here is the short version of who we are and how we work. We make short films that help you explain your offer without a long meeting. If you want the longer version, we can send that too. For now, here is the part that matters most.”
Scene idea: Simple title card, then three sections: who we are, what we make, what happens next.
If you want a broader brand film with less sales pressure, start with spec films or browse Nine for creatives. If your company story already lives in a script or document, that can be a faster starting point than writing from scratch.
How to adapt the examples to your company
Do not rewrite from scratch unless you have to. Take one example and swap in four things, your name, what you do, who you help, and what happens next. That gets you most of the way there.
Use this fill-in shape:
- We are company name.
- We make or do one clear thing.
- We help one type of customer.
- We do it so they can get one real result.
If you need a tighter edit, cut any line that repeats the same idea. A 60-second company film usually needs about 90 to 120 spoken words, rough speaking pace only. If you go past that, it starts to wander. For many small businesses, 20 to 45 seconds is enough.
You can also start from a sentence, a script, a document, a template, a voice recording, or a website address. That helps when your About Us copy already exists somewhere else. A film of your own comes with a plan, and the plan details are on the prices page.
When the first cut is ready, send it to one person who knows the business and one person who does not. The first checks facts. The second checks clarity. If the second person gets lost, the script needs work.
For layout, one film can cover more than one place. Films come in wide, tall, and square shapes, so you can use one on a website, a phone, or a feed. If you want to try a shorter test first, a free film to try is a good place to start.
Seeing your website in your own colors is free and needs no account. Paste a web address on the front page, and Nine reads the colors, lettering, and words of that site. If the look is off, you will know fast. If it is close, you are already saving time.
What to avoid in an About Us video
- Skip the long company history unless the history is the point. If you are a heritage brand, or the backstory is the product, then lead with it. Otherwise, open with the useful part.
- Cut buzzwords. “We are passionate about solutions” says very little. Say what you make, who it helps, and why it matters.
- Use only the shots that answer the script line. A wall of smiling people, a coffee machine, and a plant will not save a weak script.
- Do not make the founder carry every line. A founder can open the film, then step aside so the team, the process, or the product can speak.
- Let the voice lead. Music should support it, not hide it. If the soundtrack is louder than the words, the film starts fighting itself.
- Put the company name and a simple promise up front. The first five seconds should tell people where they are and why they should stay.
If you are unsure about length, a short animated film usually works best when it stays tight. If you want a quick check, how long should a short animated film be? is a good place to look. And if you need comments before anything is final, a client can watch through a private review link with no account and leave notes pinned to moments. That keeps feedback tied to the exact line or frame.

Questions people ask
How long should an About Us company video be?
For most small businesses, 20 to 45 seconds is a strong target. If you need more context, 60 to 90 seconds can still work. The trick is to use the extra time for useful detail, not for extra introductions. If the script starts repeating itself, trim it.
Should an About Us video be founder-led or team-led?
Either can work. Founder-led is good when the founder’s point of view is the main trust signal. Team-led is better when the company wants to show process, range, or shared responsibility. Many strong films start with the founder, then move to the team and the work.
What should the first line of a company video say?
The first line should say who you are or what you do. Keep it simple. A viewer should know within seconds that they are in the right place. Avoid a slow intro, a slogan, or a long company story right away.
Can I make an About Us video from my website text?
Yes. If your website already explains what you do, that text can become a short film script. It usually needs trimming, because web copy and spoken copy are not the same. Spoken lines need to be shorter, cleaner, and easier to hear once.
What is the best format for a company video on a website and social?
Wide works well on a website, tall works well on a phone and many social feeds, and square can fit both in a pinch. If you want one film to cover more places, making versions in wide, tall, and square saves time later.
